GRAND MAGUS Prepare To Record Sophomore CD

Sweden's GRAND MAGUS, featuring current SPIRITUAL BEGGARS frontman Janne Christoffersson, have finished writing the material for their sophomore album, due in early 2003 through Rise Above Records.

"All songs are done and arranged and we think you're all in for a treat," reads the band's official statement. "There's no doubt in our minds that this is the best stuff we've done so far.

"We plan to enter the studio shortly (been a few delays beyond our control and you never really know what's gonna happen, keep all fingers crossed) and the new album will be released early 2003 on the Rise Above label. January/February hopefully. The new album will be slightly heavier. Wait! Let me rephrase that: It will be VIKING heavy! Look out for epic doomy stuff as well as some faster surprises. That does not mean that we will sacrifice the bluesy vibe and the melodies from the first album. Those of you who have bought the first album and like it will not be disappointed... We've just refined our skills..."
